Whats the holdup?
PFS 1.0.4 is an entirely different application to previous versions and the long and short of it is that at the last minute, we decided it wasn't good enough for release. So we are busy adding some more great features and tweaking some of the existing features . Another week or so we should be there. We are sorry we keep moving the goal posts with regard to the release date, but it will be worth the wait. Thanks for your patience.

Subscriptions or Single-Fee
PFS incorporates two sales modals that will enable you to sell your files either for a single one time license fee allowing your customer continuous use of the product, or by a daily, weekly, monthly or annual subscription license fee, allowing your customer use of your product while they have an active PayPal subscription.
While one time license fees have been the accepted model for a long time and still continue to be the preferred choice, subscription licensing is becoming increasingly more popular and promotes honest customer relationships and a continuous income stream. Whichever sales modal you choose, PFS makes use of PayPal's IPN features to process your customers payments and distribute your files instantly.
No Bloat
We made PFS for those who don't want or require a full blown shopping cart solution or a complicated download manager and all the setup and management headaches that go with such applications. PFS is a proven Joomla extension, integrated seamlessly into over 350 Joomla 1.5 websites, selling many different file types, including MP3's, Videos, PDF's, Word documents, zip files, photography, templates, other Joomla extensions and practically any file type you can think of.
PFS works out of the box
By default the component requires no configuration other than to setup the categories and the products you are selling. This is as close as it gets to an out of the box installation. PFS will Install the system with one simple install routine. We have taken on board many comments and ideas from existing users and made the whole system as automated and as easy to use as it possibly could be.
PFS supports over 170 file types with support for all the most popular file types built in. PFS will correctly control the mime type of your files given to your users web browsers during download. This enables the browser to correctly determine what options to present to the user after download, i.e., save the file to disk or open the file with an associated program on the users computer.
PFS is safe and secure
The secret location of your files is preserved and no direct download links are displayed anywhere in the extension or in the emails your customer receives. PFS employs a number of security measures to protect your files and their location from prying eyes.
PFS will guard you against fraudulent activity
After each transaction, PFS will use PayPal IPN and other security measures to perform a number of checks before automatic distribution of your files. PFS will check that the price paid at the PayPal checkout is the actual price and currency of the item, and the receiver of the payment is you. If there is any discrepancy whatsoever, PFS will not distribute your files and will log the discrepancy in the database for you to view in the component admin for further investigation. PFS will also inform you by email of a new entry to the log.
